About The Seas

"Head of Snakes" is the new EP from The Seas, to be released completely digitally. Fans can purchase a download ticket at shows or download through online retailers. (More info to come...) The six-song EP, released in July, further expands their wide-angle lens of sound that incorporates wanderlust waltzes, heavily-layered funk, and sweaty psycho-revivalism. Check out the free single "Stars Don't Shine Just For You."

In 2009, The Seas performed in London as part of the City Showcase festival at the Apple Store on Oxford Street. They released the full-length album "Let's Fake It" in March 2009. "Let's Fake It" featured the single "French Toast" (available for free download) and the molasses-funk of "Talk to Me."

The Austin group released a four-song EP in 2006 that featured uppity punkish pop songs like "Little Girl" and "Rita Lee."

Their sound is Juju charms and slippery neo-soul vocals. Heavy beats and slinky treats. A mutty mix of styles and philosophies.

The Seas are: Nurk (lead vocals, melodica, mono-keys), LaRue (keys, bass, vocals), El Jefe (guitar, vocals, trombone), and the one and only Tubbers J. Jackson (percussion, drums).
